More than 100 years ago, our founding director, Andy Eugene Phillips, famously said, "School should be a happy place." Since then, the A.E. Phillips Laboratory School and its faculty and staff have worked tirelessly to live up to those words and provide a loving and nurturing environment, aimed at helping our 400 students reach their full potential. Year after year, A.E. Phillips consistently performs above the state average on school performance scores and this outdoor learning space will match the great work that is done inside the classroom.
With your support, A.E. Phillips will continue to build on more than 100 years of achievement centered on our students' academic, social, and emotional development. And you will help us make the renovations to our exterior learning spaces and playground equipment to ensure our students have a safe environment to learn, grow, play, and thrive.
The Play It Forward Campaign is an $800,000 project to renovate and enhance the school's physical campus and outdoor learning spaces. In Phase One, we secured $500,000 through grant and state funding to cover the groundwork. This next phase will require us to privately raise $300,000. These funds will provide the equipment for an exceptional outdoor learning environment designed to provide opportunities for increased mobility, balance, critical thinking, creativity, development, and let’s not forget fun for the students.
